Deborah A. Reyes is President of Capital American Mortgage Company [residential and commercial real estate mortgage financing] and Deborah A. Reyes Consulting & Training Group [personal and professional development, real estate industry, business evaluation and strategic planning, corporate board development, organizational development for-profit and not-for-profit organizations] in Coral Gables, Florida.
Previously, she was Executive Vice President for HELPCO Financial Services, Inc. Prior to that, she handled operations for an agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company handling life, disability and pension administration.
Ms. Reyes has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations from Florida International University in Miami. Deborah is individually licensed as a Florida Mortgage Broker, Real Estate Sales Associate and Insurance 2-15 Agent [Life, Health and Variable Annuity]. She has been honored as South Florida’s Best Mortgage Lender of the Year for nine [9] years.
She has held a number of leadership positions on several boards: Chair of the World Foundation for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Inc.; First Vice President for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami; Chair National Board Alumni for Girl Scouts of the USA; as well as serves on several Boards: the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Builders Association of South Florida; the Federal National Mortgage Association Advisory Council for the Partnership Office; Fannie Mae Foundation Community Colleges Initiative—Miami Dade Community College.
She has also held Board and leadership positions with Fannie Mae Southeastern Regional Advisory Board, Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation’s Wholesale Customer Advisory Board, Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, Girl Scouts of the USA, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Academy of Finance, the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women, and the South Florida Association of Professional Mortgage Women.
Ms. Reyes serves on the Preferra Insurance Company Risk Retention Group Board as Director and Treasurer; formerly on the NASW Insurance Company [NASWIC] as Director and formerly on the NASW Assurance Services Inc. [ASI].
Ms. Reyes has received a number of awards for her voluntary work; as well as recognition within her industry including: Outstanding Business Woman of the Year by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce; the Athena Award; the highest award from Girl Scouts of the USA – Thanks Badge and from Boy Scouts of America– La Flor de Lis Cubana; and the Zonta Club International Volunteer of the Year Award.
